Who are we?

Tina Fear

RN; RM; ONC; HVCert; CertED(FE); MA

I am a Principal Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, University of the West of England, Bristol with a lead role in developing partnership working with both general practice and care homes for older people. My background is general nursing, health visiting and general practice nursing. My interests lie in social gerontology, specifically, health and well-being of the older person, particularly the vulnerable in terms of both care provision and prevention of abuse. I work with general practices as an Associate Postgraduate Dean for Nursing in the School of Primary Care (GP training), Severn Deanery. I am also currently involved in EU research projects relating to older people and technology.

Jane Bennett

RGN BSc (Hons), ONC RCN, Advanced Nurse practitioner, Non-medical Prescriber

I have worked in general practice for 17 years, the last 8 as a qualified nurse practitioner. Prior to this I worked in diverse areas of secondary care from gynaecology to a remote GP led unit in the west of Scotland.

I have particular interest in promoting general practice nursing as an exciting and challenging career.
