Aims & Objectives

This course is designed for:

  • Registered Nurses or Allied Health Professionals working with populations /patients at risk of and with long term conditions in any setting.

The course aims to offer a variety of learning approaches that will significantly minimise time out of practice.

These approaches will take the form of:

  • Online resources
  • Simulation
  • Self directed learning
  • Workplace learning
  • Workshops

The objective is to assist potential students to identify their individual learning needs from their most recent appraisal or if new to post, as outlined in their roles/responsibilities commensurate with their job description.

The success of this course is dependent on mentorship in practice that supports the achievement of relevant competencies.

Relevant specialist practitioners will deliver interactive learning sessions alongside facilitation by lecturers. A competency driven framework will use a portfolio and action learning sets to embed knowledge and clinical skill development in the workplace.
